For those who haven't been to anywhere in Greece before - I highly recommend Crete. It's such a beautiful island, I booked a all inclusive trip via Hays Travel for 7 nights, thinking I would of just stayed in resort for the entire time but I couldn't resist but to explore the local area and go for walks.
The flight wasn't too bad, I flew from BHX and it took approx 4 hours, I don't remember who I actually flew with but the flight wasn't too bad, I landed in the evening so by the time I got to the resort it was approx 11pm local time, so I checked in sorted myself out had a couple drinks by the pool and headed for an early night ready to be up for breakfast in the morning.
Food at the hotel was so good, especially for someone like me who loves my salads and vegetables, I was spoilt for choice every meal and just ate plates and plates full. The drink choice was also good for all inclusive, I tended to stick to cocktails on the list as I found them really refreshing in the heat.
You also got to go to the posher restaurant once during your stay free of charge, which of course I did as I wanted to know the difference between the food as it didn't fail me as a food lover.
When in Greece you have to visit a spa of course, it's just one of those things - so I treated myself to a full body massage after I had been scuba diving. I highly recommend staying off the alcohol if your going to do this.
One of my favourite parts of the entire trip was going scuba diving, it was a whole new experience for me and I have such a love for the ocean I just couldn't wait to dive down & explore it, I just wish I got to spend longer under exploring, getting to go that little bit deeper but I still managed to get down a good depth & see all sorts.
I also found a lovely local bar which I have left reviews on the review page for you to see, but the owner went above and beyond everytime I visited he was so friendly and helpful was telling me all about the island and its history. Recommending new places for me to travel also.
Getting around the area I just walked everywhere, but you can use buses, taxis or even rent cars, bikes & scooters.
I was honestly sad to be leaving when it came to the end of the 7days, but I'll return sometime for sure. Maybe this time I'll go island hopping as it looks like such fun & that way you get to explore even more.
I have already booked to travel to the next island Rhodes & Santorini in October 2023 for a week each, which should be lovely. So there will be many more reviews to come from all the different areas of Greece until I've finally done them all. One down, multiple more to go.
